From Two to Three Rooms (and Beyond)

Maximizing Space

Have you purchased an investment property and want to maximize its rental potential? Do you live in an apartment that no longer suits your needs?
Many people feel "stuck" with a property that seems unsuitable to them, but with creativity and expertise, nearly anything is possible. Whether adding a bedroom, an extra bathroom, or designing special spaces like a home recording studio, cinema room, or personal gym—your dream home is within reach. All it takes is the courage to imagine it.

Sample Projects

From a two-room apartment with one bathroom and no balcony to a three-room apartment with two bathrooms and a balcony.

A young academic purchased a very old apartment in Florentin, covering an area of 66 square meters, requiring a complete renovation.
The original apartment included a living room, kitchen, bedroom, one bathroom, and two balconies that had been enclosed and incorporated into the interior space.
During the planning discussion, it became clear that the owner had a dream of having a balcony extending from the living room.
Through a complete redesign of the apartment’s layout, we not only added a guest room but also attached an additional bathroom to it.
Most importantly, we reopened one of the previously enclosed balconies, bringing greenery and natural light into the apartment, making the owner’s dream a reality.

Key Changes:

(1) Creating an open-plan living room and kitchen area that visually extends from the entrance, enhancing the perception of space.
(2) Restoring the balcony with a full-length glass window wall, flooding the entire space with natural light.
(3) Adding a small entrance hall before the master bathroom to enhance privacy.
(4) Designing a new bathroom with a spacious shower.
(5) Creating a bright and spacious bedroom.
(6) Adding a guest room with a sofa bed and two storage units.
(7) Installing a bathroom with an integrated marble trough sink and a separate toilet with a dedicated door.

In depth renovation of a 180-Square-Meter Apartment

The owner purchased a large and very old apartment in Ramat Aviv, which required a complete renovation. Despite the apartment's vast size, the general feeling was that of a dark maze: numerous rooms and walk-in closets winding along a long and alienating corridor, with dark bathrooms that lacked external windows.
The new design was primarily based on connecting the kitchen with the living room and changing the entrance to the corridor, which allowed for a pleasant and embracing layout in this spacious apartment. The number of rooms was preserved, natural ventilation was introduced into the bathrooms, and various smart storage solutions were created in both corridors.

Key Changes:
(1) Creating an open space with a spacious kitchen, living room, and dining area. The furniture layout defines separate and intimate zones while maintaining the flow in the space.
(2) Concealing the entrance to the storage room by extending the kitchen-cabinet doors.
(3) Adding a bathroom for the home office/guest room, separate from the rest of the home’s bathrooms.
(4) Relocating the entrance to the corridor and breaking it into two sections, while incorporating diverse storage solutions along its length.
(5) Creating a utility/laundry closet adjacent to the main bathroom.
(6) Designing a primary bathroom with natural ventilation.
(7) A spacious master bedroom with a king-size bed.
(8) A dedicated makeup/workspace.
(9) A naturally ventilated bathroom, featuring a luxurious square shower that breaks the elongated feel of the space.
